In a dystopian corporate future, an unassuming accountant is reassigned to a new position, possibly due to a mix-up with an employee of the same name. Convinced of his heroic destiny following a drug induced hallucination, Gilroy heads to the desert in search of a facility housing top secret particle physics research. On his journey across the now barren continental united states (most of the country having become an abandoned missile testing ground) he’ll become embroiled in various plots involving bohemian documentarians, neuroscientists, baby talk experts, drug traffickers, prosthetic limb manufacturers, contemporary performance artists, and more.
